Giovani Serrano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauricio Oporto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mauricio Oporto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovani Serrano having to interfere. Mario Bentos charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mario Bentos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Frimley Green booed when Manchester United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mario Bentos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcelo Padilla was a little too slow when Felipe Cetino got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 42nd minute. The score was now 1-2. The Manchester United players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Frimley Green were winning 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mauricio Oporto to make the kick off.
