The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Elias Orozco during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Elias Orozco kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Northampton FC's Rolando Corrales played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ladislao Villarreal in the 6th minute of play. The supporters of Evington booed when Northampton FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dagoberto Cortez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rolando Corrales was a little too slow when Alberto Monzon got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 11th minute. The score was now 1-0. Alonso Quintanilla's late challenge caught a Evington's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alonso Quintanilla helped the player get up and apologised. Alonso Quintanilla hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Northampton FC's Rony Madariaga got a free kick in the 15th minute. 16 minutes into the match, Evington's Victor Sanchez broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Emerson Fernandez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dagoberto Cortez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Alonso Fuentes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emerson Fernandez got free with Rolando Corrales in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Northampton FC's Rolando Corrales got control of the ball when Emerson Fernandez tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 37thth minute of the game Dagoberto Cortez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Evington's Alonso Fuentes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Evington's goalkeeper Alonso Fuentes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 41st minute, Ladislao Villarreal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Erick Pimentel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alonso Fuentes having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ladislao Villarreal to strike the kick off in the second half. Alonso Fuentes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erick Pimentel, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Alonso Fuentes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erick Pimentel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alberto Monzon hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Erick Pimentel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alonso Fuentes having to interfere. Rolando Corrales showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rolando Carballo in the 84th minute of the match. Emerson Fernandez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rolando Corrales having to make a save. Dagoberto Cortez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alonso Fuentes having to interfere. 94 minutes into the match, Evington's Ladislao Villarreal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rolando Corrales narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Ladislao Villarreal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Evington's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
