Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Jaime Hernández started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Benji Magaña received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Ovidio Posadas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Douglas Torres in the 6th minute of play forced Darfield FC's goalkeeper Ovidio Posadas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Francisco Cetino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alvaro Hurtado having to interfere. Efrain Arango's late challenge caught a Darfield FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Efrain Arango helped the player get up and apologised. After 18 played minutes Paignton got a freekick which was hit by Efrain Arango. After a defensive mix-up in Paignton's zone, Jaime Hernández stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alvaro Hurtado came out of the goal and Jaime Hernández tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 29th minute, Paignton's Douglas Torres dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Ovidio Posadas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Douglas Torres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jaime Hernández's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alvaro Hurtado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. When Gabriel Cabrera fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Darfield FC's protests and gave Gabriel Cabrera a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benji Magaña in the 44th minute of play forced Darfield FC's goalkeeper Ovidio Posadas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 46 minutes into the match, Paignton's goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Hernández came free, but Alvaro Hurtado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Douglas Torres to strike the kick off in the second half. A hard shot 58 in the game by Francisco Cetino from a close distance when the talented Alvaro Hurtado managed to make a qualified save. Paignton's players were relieved. In the 59th minute, Dennys Arango hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Darfield FC getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Jaime Hernández hit a great ball. Douglas Torres struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Ovidio Posadas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paignton. In the 67th minute, Francisco Cetino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Benji Magaña fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ovidio Posadas having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Benji Magaña in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ovidio Posadas saved Darfield FC from getting behind. Darfield FC's Ovidio Posadas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Douglas Torres in the 83rd minute of play. Francisco Cetino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alvaro Hurtado having to interfere. Paignton's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
