Francisco Guerra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julio Padilla in the 29th minute of the match. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Liskeard AFC's goalkeeper Francisco Guerra, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Pedro Bustamante made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Carlos Cabrera sent off a good shot on target. Amilcar Rosales kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. After the first half South Shields United were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After 52 played minutes South Shields United got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Ochoa. If Alfredo Flamenco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute.
