After 8 minutes, Leonel Magaña mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Olimpia Fc and the Mount Hawke City players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 8th minute, Leonel Magaña hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benji Carballo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Orellana having to interfere. If Benji Carballo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fabio Suarez was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ruben Villanueva showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 16 minute of play. Alfredo Orellana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benji Carballo in the 20th minute of the match. Benji Carballo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Mount Hawke City's Rene Figueroa got a free kick in the 23rd minute. After 26 played minutes, Club Olimpia Fc's Shawn Talia shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alfredo Orellana came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Club Olimpia Fc reached it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lorenzo Zapata during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Mount Hawke City getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Lorenzo Zapata hit a great ball. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alfredo Orellana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauricio Calderon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Benji Carballo was the one to do the kick off. Alfredo Orellana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mauricio Calderon in the 52nd minute of the match. After having played for 77 minutes, Benji Carballo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Olimpia Fc's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benji Carballo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Club Olimpia Fc's Fabio Suarez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgar Gutierrez in the 81st minute of play. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mount Hawke City's goalkeeper Alfredo Orellana, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Benji Carballos short, quick shot in the 86thth minute got Alfredo Orellana to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Mauricio Calderon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Alfredo Orellana managed to avoid a goal in the 91stth minute, when Club Olimpia Fc's Benji Carballo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Leonel Magaña came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Club Olimpia Fc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leonel Magaña couldn't finish the play. Despite being the better team, Club Olimpia Fc failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
