Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Torquay City's Alberto Botello started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 5th play minutes Julio Osorio shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Victorino Ramirez and just under the crossbar into goal. After having played for 9 minutes, Mariano Moreno managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Erith's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mariano Moreno was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Torquay City's Rony Alas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Torquay City from getting a goal against them. 13 minutes into the match, Erith's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Botello came free, but Victorino Ramirez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rony Alas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Moreno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Erith booed when Torquay City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eraldo Bonilla didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mariano Moreno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Torquay City's Rony Alas got control of the ball when Omar Carballo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alberto Botello in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Victorino Ramirez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rony Alas came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Erith's Omar Carballo. But to his dismay, Omar Carballo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The supporters of Torquay City booed when Erith was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guillermo Gutierrez didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Erith defense, Julio Osorio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Victorino Ramirez. The Erith fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Victorino Ramirez should have stopped the shot. Through an outstanding action, after 44 minutes, Rony Alas successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Eraldo Bonilla hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. When Erith's Mariano Moreno, in the 46th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Erith. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mariano Moreno to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute Julio Osorio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victorino Ramirez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Erith's Danilo Lozano got a free kick in the 54th minute. Alberto Botello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 58 minutes into the game, Julio Osorio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Victorino Ramirez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Omar Carballo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 64th minute, Omar Carballo made a precise shot to the right of Rony Alas. Torquay City's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. Mariano Moreno recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Erith's Mariano Moreno in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Torquay City's goalie prevented a goal. Alberto Botello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpected shot in the 87th minute by Arturo Del Carmen got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Botello in the 92nd minute of play forced Erith's goalkeeper Victorino Ramirez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 93rd match minute, Erith was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Fuentes to maneuver through the defense. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Torquay City had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
