Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Marcelo Sigaran made the kick off which started today's match. 8 minutes into the game, Jorge Giron was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Worksop FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lewes City the free kick. In the 8th minute, Jorge Giron hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Henry Medrano came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Lewes City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Henry Medrano couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luis Castro during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When Worksop FC's Baltazar Anaya in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lewes City's goalie prevented a goal. Jorge Giron received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rudy Rivera came out and tried to block the shot, but Jorge Giron slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 18th minute. When the match clock showed 20 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Jorge Giron sped through Lewes City's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Rudy Rivera. Wilmer Arellano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcelo Sigaran in the 24th minute of the match. In the 27th match minute, Worksop FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rolando Boianelli to maneuver through the defense. In the 36th minute, Rolando Boianelli got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Lewes City's zone, Jorge Giron stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rudy Rivera came out of the goal and Jorge Giron tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wilmer Arellano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henry Medrano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
Rudy Rivera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baltazar Anaya, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Worksop FC's Baltazar Anaya got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jorge Giron recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lewes City's Marcelo Sigaran got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 93rd minute Jorge Giron shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rudy Rivera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Worksop FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
