With an all-out effort, Henley on Thames's Félix Oporto threw himself towards the right post 11 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Marcos Boianelli, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcos Boianelli in the 14th minute of play forced Hedge End's goalkeeper Félix Oporto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Marcos Boianelli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Hedge End booed when Henley on Thames was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alvaro Carrillo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rony Chavez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pablo Gomez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pablo Gomez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Rony Chavez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Félix Oporto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Henley on Thames's Marcos Boianelli got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 44 minutes into the match, Henley on Thames's goal looked a bit too open when Fidel Paz came free, but Rony Chavez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fidel Paz might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rony Chavez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fidel Paz ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pablo Gomez in the 46th minute of play forced Henley on Thames's goalkeeper Rony Chavez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Fidel Paz made the kick off in the second half. Félix Oporto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcos Boianelli, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. In the 54th minute Emerson Costas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Félix Oporto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fidel Paz struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Rony Chavez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hedge End. Félix Oporto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emerson Costas's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. Félix Oporto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcos Boianelli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emerson Costas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Félix Oporto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee felt a red card was in order, 78 minutes into the game, when Orlando Hurtado put in a rough tackle. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Emerson Costas during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 90th minute, Pablo Gomez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hedge End fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Emerson Costas struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute.
