The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute, Carmelo Navarro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Christian Paz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Washington United's supporters rose to their feet, but Christian Paz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mauricio Lozano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Carmelo Navarro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pablo Rey having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Bembridge United's zone, Christian Paz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mauricio Lozano came out of the goal and Christian Paz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 26 minutes into the match, Bembridge United's goal looked a bit too open when Christian Paz came free, but Mauricio Lozano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, Washington United's goalkeeper Pablo Rey had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Carmelo Navarro. Carmelo Navarro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mauricio Lozano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christian Paz, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. The supporters of Bembridge United booed when Washington United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jhalmar Ventura didn't get a good kick on the ball. 40 minutes into the match, Washington United's goalkeeper Pablo Rey had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ulises Carranza. In the 83rdth minute of the game Amilcar Nunes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bembridge United's Mauricio Lozano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 84th match minute, Washington United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arturo Cabrera to maneuver through the defense. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Washington United had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
