The crowd rose to their feet as Emerson Morales kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Daniel Peredes. That made the score 1-0 in the 18 minute of play. Daniel Peredes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emerson Morales in the 24th minute of play. Watford City's Emerson Morales was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 29th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After a rather tough play, Waterloo and South Bank's Edwin Uranga got a free kick in the 32nd minute. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Watford City's goalkeeper Jonathan Zepeda, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emerson Morales made a kick off. Jonathan Zepeda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victorino Zaldaña in the 51st minute of the match. Jonathan Zepeda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Humberto Salguero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Orlando Alferez charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Orlando Alferez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 53 played minutes Watford City got a freekick which was hit by Orlando Alferez. Arnoldo Del Carmen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Zepeda having to interfere. In the 59th minute, Orlando Alferez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Waterloo and South Bank defense, Rony Santana kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Daniel Peredes. The Waterloo and South Bank fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Daniel Peredes should have stopped the shot. After 79 played minutes Waterloo and South Bank got a freekick which was hit by Wilber Gutierrez. In the 82nd minute, Emerson Morales hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 86th minute, Arnoldo Del Carmen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 87 minutes into the game, Emerson Morales was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Watford City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Waterloo and South Bank the free kick. In the 91st match minute, Waterloo and South Bank was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benjamín García to maneuver through the defense. 93 minutes into the game, Alejandro Moreira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Watford City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Waterloo and South Bank the free kick.
