The audience thought a goal was coming when Alexis Lovo got free with Edwin Espindola in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Borehamwood United booed when Malton United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carmelo Viscarra didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Orlando Rivas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 24 minutes, Eraldo Pérez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Borehamwood United and the Malton United players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 24th minute of the game. One of Borehamwood United:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Malton United:s goal. The referee gave Malton United a penalty, 26 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Alexander Velis, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Borehamwood United's Ulises Ramirez. 0-1. Raúl Pineda kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Borehamwood United defense, Misael Najarro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ulises Ramirez. The Borehamwood United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ulises Ramirez should have stopped the shot. Ulises Ramirez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orlando Rivas in the 45th minute of play. Borehamwood United's Alexis Lovo got a good chance for a goal in the 49th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Misael Najarro to strike the kick off in the second half. Leopoldo Costas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Edwin Espindola made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leopoldo Costas in the 57th minute of play. After some careless play in the Malton United defense, Leopoldo Costas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edwin Espindola. The Malton United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edwin Espindola should have stopped the shot. Alexis Lovo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Edwin Espindola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Malton United's Edwin Espindola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexis Lovo in the 71st minute of play. Ulises Ramirez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Misael Najarro in the 74th minute of the match. Benji Bautista hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carmelo Viscarra during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 83rd match minute, Malton United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carmelo Viscarra to maneuver through the defense.
