The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Clitheroe United's Rafael Arellano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernesto Talia in the 18th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amilcar Paredes in the 20th minute of play forced Trowell's goalkeeper Edgar Vinosis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Rolando Barrera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rolando Barrera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Clitheroe United booed when Trowell was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Libardo Leiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Rolando Barrera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edgar Vinosis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amilcar Paredes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 57th minute Edgardo Aguilar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgar Vinosis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edgar Vinosis didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Clitheroe United's Edgardo Aguilar shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-1 in the ordered_time% minute. Rafael Arellano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ernesto Talia in the 67th minute. Amilcar Paredes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Trowell played a much better game than Clitheroe United and deserved their victory. The Clitheroe United players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
