One of Clitheroe United:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Leigh United:s goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Amilcar Paredes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Clitheroe United's supporters rose to their feet, but Amilcar Paredes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Christian Hinguanzo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Clitheroe United's Rafael Arellano got control of the ball when Leopoldo Machado tried to sneak it across the goal line. Amilcar Paredes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Christian Hinguanzo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Leopoldo Machado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rafael Arellano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jhalmar Mendoza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Jhalmar Mendoza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 33rd play minutes Jhalmar Mendoza shot 2-1, a short shot which went by Rafael Arellano and just under the crossbar into goal. Francisco Duarte hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Rafael Arellano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jhalmar Mendoza, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. In the 43rd minute, Leigh United's Leopoldo Machado ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rafael Arellano. Rafael Arellano yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-1. Leopoldo Machado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Rafael Arellano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jhalmar Mendoza made a kick off. After 53 played minutes Amilcar Paredes rounded Leigh United's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 3-2. Rafael Arellano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jhalmar Mendoza in the 60th minute of play. A collision led to Clitheroe United getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Guillermo Del Carmen hit a great ball. Leigh United's Christian Hinguanzo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Leigh United from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Leigh United booed when Clitheroe United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edwin Sifon didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Leopoldo Machado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leigh United's supporters rose to their feet, but Leopoldo Machado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rafael Arellano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Clitheroe United's Jhalmar Lovo got a free kick in the 90th minute. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
