Antonio Bermudez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of F.C Guatemala booed when Ilford FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alvaro Guerra didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alberto Escalante took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rene Hinguanzo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alberto Escalante stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rene Hinguanzo's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. Leopoldo Lozano hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. In the 26th minute of the match Juan Huezo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alberto Escalante skillfully saved the ball. Alberto Escalante took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonio Bermudez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 31st play minutes Allan Ventura shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Deris Alferez and just under the crossbar into goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The referee ignored Ilford FC's protests and gave Pedro Reyes a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Ilford FC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Pedro Reyes hit a great ball. After 57 played minutes F.C Guatemala got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Bermudez. Allan Ventura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Deris Alferez having to interfere. If Amilcar Arango had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Deris Alferez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amilcar Arango in the 68th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Antonio Bermudez got free with Alberto Escalante in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 77th minute Amilcar Arango shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Deris Alferez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 79 minutes, Antonio Bermudez put it in 1-3 from a short distance just to the right of Alberto Escalante. After 82 played minutes F.C Guatemala got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Velis. 83 minutes into the match, F.C Guatemala's goal looked a bit too open when Allan Ventura came free, but Deris Alferez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Allan Ventura managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ilford FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Allan Ventura was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Deris Alferez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rene Hinguanzo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute.
