An unexpectedly hard shot by Marvin Huezo in the 8th minute of play forced Verwood's goalkeeper Enrique Bonilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 12 minutes into the game, Verwood's Jhonnatan Leiva nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ivan Medrano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Fidel Salazar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 19 minutes into the match, Verwood's Fidel Salazar sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ivan Medrano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jhonnatan Leiva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marvin Huezo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enrique Bonilla having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Jose Rivas managed to get in a good position for a shot. West Bridgford AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jose Rivas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Enrique Bonilla breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the West Bridgford AFC defense, Fidel Salazar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ivan Medrano. The West Bridgford AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ivan Medrano should have stopped the shot. Fidel Salazar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Ivan Medrano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ivan Medrano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fidel Salazar, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. If Fidel Salazar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Verwood booed when West Bridgford AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Danilo Montes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fidel Salazar to make the kick off. In the 63rd minute Danilo Montes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enrique Bonilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Enrique Bonilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Danilo Montes, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Ivan Medrano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fidel Salazar in the 70th minute of the match. In the 73rd minute of the match Ernesto Anaya shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Enrique Bonilla showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Ivan Medrano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fidel Salazar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fidel Salazar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of West Bridgford AFC booed when Verwood was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jaime Ayala didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Fidel Salazar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Ivan Medrano managed to avoid a goal in the 89thth minute, when Verwood's Jhonnatan Leiva fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Jhonnatan Leiva could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Ivan Medrano made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jhonnatan Leiva got free with Ivan Medrano in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Verwood players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
