Leopoldo Mora made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelo Sigaran in the 21st minute of play. Leopoldo Mora took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicolás Figueroa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alberto Costas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Milton Gallardo in the 24th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, Nicolás Figueroa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Leopoldo Mora. Burgess Hill's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nicolás Figueroa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After 36 played minutes, Stamford Bridge's Efrain Prado shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Leopoldo Mora came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Stamford Bridge reached it. In the 39th minute Guillermo Canales shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alberto Costas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 39th match minute, Stamford Bridge was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugo Alvarenga to maneuver through the defense. Milton Gallardo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Patricio Posadas struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Leopoldo Mora didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stamford Bridge.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Milton Gallardo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Burgess Hill's Leopoldo Mora played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Posadas in the 51st minute of play. In the 52nd match minute, Stamford Bridge was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patricio Posadas to maneuver through the defense. After 56 played minutes Burgess Hill got a freekick which was hit by Guillermo Canales. Nicolás Figueroa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 64 minutes into the game, Alberto Campos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Burgess Hill's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Stamford Bridge the free kick. A collision led to Stamford Bridge getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Patricio Posadas hit a great ball. Burgess Hill's Leopoldo Mora proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Burgess Hill from getting a goal against them. Jose Fernandez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alberto Costas having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Burgess Hill's zone, Nicolás Figueroa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leopoldo Mora came out of the goal and Nicolás Figueroa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Milton Gallardo kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Marcelo Sigaran managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stamford Bridge's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcelo Sigaran was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leopoldo Mora breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Nicolás Figueroa kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Leopoldo Mora. That made the score 2-2 in the 86 minute of play. Leopoldo Mora made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcelo Sigaran in the 95th minute.
