Agustin Gomez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Marvin Machado made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Wilmer Moreno during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 7th minute, one of Darwen:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Darwen. Alexander Bran took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 16th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Richard Ramirez. Darwen's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With a little luck, St Austell City's Marvin Machado got control of the ball when Agustin Gomez tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hugo Osorio in the 23rd minute of play forced Darwen's goalkeeper Richard Ramirez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edgardo Lovo kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. After 34 played minutes St Austell City got a freekick which was hit by Wilber Pérez. But to his dismay, Esteban Aguilar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. If Esteban Aguilar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. After 70 minutes St Austell City's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Milton Palma who took care of the corner kick. Esteban Aguilar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Agustin Gomez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
