After 5 played minutes, Sleaford United's Edgardo Messias shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Yasir Alvarado came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sleaford United reached it. A hard shot by Danilo Barragan from long distance, 11 minutes into the match, got Zelvin Valenzuela's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After 13 played minutes Eltham got a freekick which was hit by Agustin Amaya. In the 15thth minute of the game Humberto Contrera who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Eltham's Yasir Alvarado was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Ernesto Bustamante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ernesto Bustamante's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 23rdth minute, Zelvin Valenzuela skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Ernesto Bustamante received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Zelvin Valenzuela tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Ivan Alfaro fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Eltham's protests and gave Ivan Alfaro a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Sleaford United booed when Eltham was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivan Alfaro didn't get a good kick on the ball. 28 minutes into the match, Eltham's goal looked a bit too open when Camilo Pineda came free, but Yasir Alvarado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Yasir Alvarado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Humberto Contrera in the 31st minute of play. Ernesto Bustamante's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zelvin Valenzuela read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. Miguel Bustamante hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. If Antonio Orozco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Humberto Contrera made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Camilo Pineda managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sleaford United's supporters rose to their feet, but Camilo Pineda was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yasir Alvarado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ivan Alfaro was shown his second yellow card after 64 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 65th match minute, Eltham was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivan Alfaro to maneuver through the defense. Eltham's Yasir Alvarado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Humberto Contrera in the 68th minute of play. Ronald Leguizamon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Zelvin Valenzuela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernesto Bustamante, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Humberto Contrera showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Sleaford United's Humberto Carballo suffered a concussion in the 94th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Ronald Leguizamon's late challenge caught a Sleaford United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ronald Leguizamon helped the player get up and apologised. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
