In the 26th minute, Camilo Martinez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nelson Padilla stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Camilo Martinez's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. Gorton's Marcelo Fernandez got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eliseo Villalobos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nelson Padilla having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Camilo Martinez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nelson Padilla was relentless in the 36th minute of the game.
