After 9 played minutes North Shields got a freekick which was hit by Primitivo Carrillo. Rony Villacorta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Salinas having to interfere. Augusto Flores received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Abraham Uranga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Salvador Rey's late challenge caught a North Shields's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Salvador Rey helped the player get up and apologised. Augusto Flores struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Abraham Uranga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for North Shields. Arnoldo Madariaga scored 0-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Abraham Uranga, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
