When Franklin Guerra came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Bury St Edmunds fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Franklin Guerra couldn't finish the play. Danilo Renderos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Franklin Guerra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Franklin Guerra in the 22nd minute of play forced Crookes United's goalkeeper Danilo Renderos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Richard Palma fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oswaldo Morales having to interfere. After 26 minutes of play, Crookes United's Richard Palma made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Oswaldo Morales was left in no man's land by his defense there! Danilo Renderos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Franklin Guerra in the 32nd minute of the match. Esteban Sifon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Esteban Santamaria's late challenge caught a Bury St Edmunds's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Esteban Santamaria helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Crookes United getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Esteban Santamaria hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Crookes United's Mauro Reyes got a free kick in the 47th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Danilo Renderos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Bury St Edmunds's Franklin Guerra got a good chance for a goal in the 99th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Bury St Edmunds fans cheered their team off the field, for while Crookes United had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
