Rolando Vasquez's late challenge caught a CSD Municipal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Cove City's zone, Andrés Sandoval stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabio Corrales came out of the goal and Andrés Sandoval tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Andrés Sandoval recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arturo Gallegos hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Juan Flores struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carmelo Espindola made a kick off. Cove City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CSD Municipal the free kick. After 59 played minutes Cove City got a freekick which was hit by Ronald Sanchez. Selvin Llorente might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fabio Corrales. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Selvin Llorente ran back to his position shaking his head. Selvin Llorente blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fabio Corrales having to make a save. Allan Victorino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
