Joselito Ortiz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 7 minutes into the match, Sandown FC's Ovidio Orozco sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Baltazar Gallardo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adolfo Muñoz in the 11th minute of play forced Sandown FC's goalkeeper Mariano Hernández to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Ovidio Orozco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Andrés Bonilla managed to get in a good position for a shot. Soul´s Anchor Tattoo's supporters rose to their feet, but Andrés Bonilla was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mariano Hernández breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Soul´s Anchor Tattoo's Baltazar Gallardo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Soul´s Anchor Tattoo from getting a goal against them. Jorge Guerra kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Sandown FC's Sarbelio Paredes got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 30 minutes into the match, Andrés Bonilla had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mariano Hernández. Sandown FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Andrés Bonilla was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 35th minute, Adolfo Muñoz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sandown FC's Mariano Hernández played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andrés Bonilla in the 38th minute of play. Baltazar Gallardo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sarbelio Paredes, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Jorge Guerra hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. The Sandown FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Soul´s Anchor Tattoo were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Adolfo Muñoz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mariano Hernández made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Giovani Mondragon sent off a good shot on target. Luis Pinho's late challenge caught a Soul´s Anchor Tattoo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luis Pinho helped the player get up and apologised. In the 80th match minute, Sandown FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Pinho to maneuver through the defense. Soul´s Anchor Tattoo were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
