Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nery Figueroa started the match with the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tito Oreamuno during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tuto Varela in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mariano Talamanca prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 21 minutes into the match, Tuto Varela notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Ojochal's Mariano Talamanca. Mariano Talamanca was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. David Medina made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nery Figueroa in the 30th minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, Ojochal's goal looked a bit too open when Tuto Varela came free, but Mariano Talamanca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nery Figueroa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. David Medina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Omar Padilla got free with David Medina in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the Ojochal defense, Tuto Varela kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mariano Talamanca. The Ojochal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mariano Talamanca should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
David Medina took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nery Figueroa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 58 played minutes la Fortuna got a freekick which was hit by Anselmo Santamaria. Giovanni Millot, 59 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After 68 played minutes la Fortuna got a freekick which was hit by Jaime Madriz. In the 75th minute of the match Giovanni Millot shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but David Medina showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. David Medina showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nery Figueroa, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. After a defensive mix-up in la Fortuna's zone, Omar Padilla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David Medina came out of the goal and Omar Padilla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nery Figueroa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nery Figueroa struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. David Medina didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ojochal. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Ojochal lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
