Marco Oses helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Coto Brus AFC getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Marco Oses hit a great ball. Aurelio Mena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 16th minute, Coto Brus AFC's Leonel Fonseca seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Leonel Fonseca the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Coto Brus AFC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Leonel Fonseca had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Diego Jara walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. In the 22nd minute Bennie Mora shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabian Moya saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Inocencio Cantillos short, quick shot in the 24thth minute got Marco Villegas to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Mal pais AFC's attack was well implemented in the 25th minute, but when Aurelio Mena was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. If Warner Saenz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leonel Matamoros hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. A hard shot 30 in the game by Inocencio Cantillo from a close distance when the talented Marco Villegas managed to make a qualified save. Mal pais AFC's players were relieved. Aurelio Mena recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Warner Saenz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Warner Saenz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabian Moya having to interfere. Pepe Herrera hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Fabian Moya made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aurelio Mena in the 46th minute of play. Mal pais AFC's Warner Saenz got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Inocencio Cantillo made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Coto Brus AFC's zone, Bennie Mora stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabian Moya came out of the goal and Bennie Mora tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Mal pais AFC getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Leonel Matamoros hit a great ball. Bennie Mora shot from long distance in the 75th minute, but Fabian Moya was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. When Leonel Campos fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Coto Brus AFC's protests and gave Leonel Campos a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Coto Brus AFC getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Leonel Campos hit a great ball. In the 81st minute, Warner Saenz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aurelio Mena hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Warner Saenz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mal pais AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Warner Saenz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fabian Moya breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 89th minute, Mal pais AFC's Warner Saenz ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Fabian Moya. Fabian Moya yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. The Coto Brus AFC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
