The supporters of Naranjo FC booed when la Fortuna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Josue Garita didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 21st minute, Olman Umaña got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Olman Umaña had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Olman Umaña fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Naranjo FC's protests and gave Olman Umaña a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Naranjo FC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Olman Umaña hit a great ball. Agustin Sarmiento didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anselmo Figueres went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Naranjo FC's goalkeeper Francisco Borbon, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Francisco Borbon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isidoro Alfaro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Olman Umaña fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agustin Sarmiento having to interfere. After having played for 64 minutes, Anselmo Figueres managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Naranjo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anselmo Figueres was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Anselmo Figueres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agustin Sarmiento having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olman Umaña in the 72nd minute of play forced la Fortuna's goalkeeper Agustin Sarmiento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anselmo Figueres struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Agustin Sarmiento didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Naranjo FC. The audience was convinced that Olman Umaña's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Agustin Sarmiento was relentless in the 96th minute of the game. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Naranjo FC fully deserved thier win.
