Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Irvin Trejos started the match with the kick off. In the 4th minute of the match Otton Porras shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bernie Cordero showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Arsenio Carazo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Bernie Cordero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alexander Chamberlain kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Emiliano Cordero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Orlando Jarquin having to interfere. Arsenio Carazo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bernie Cordero read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. Puriscal's Orlando Jarquin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Irvin Trejos in the 22nd minute of play. With a little luck, Uvita's Bernie Cordero got control of the ball when Chunche Palma tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 31st minute by Chunche Palma got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Leo Miranda hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. In the 37th minute, Alexander Chamberlain ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bernie Cordero was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. 42 minutes into the match, Puriscal's Arsenio Carazo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bernie Cordero narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arsenio Carazo to make the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Manrique Sarmiento during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Manrique Sarmiento hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. A collision led to Puriscal getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Rafael Rohrmoser hit a great ball. When Irvin Trejos came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Uvita fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Irvin Trejos couldn't finish the play. After 64 played minutes Puriscal got a freekick which was hit by Otton Porras. After recieving a nice pass, Uvita's Antonio Garro tried to score from far away in the 65th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 67th minute Chunche Palma shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernie Cordero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Uvita's Bernie Cordero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chunche Palma in the 71st minute of play. Bernie Cordero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chunche Palma in the 75th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Alexander Chamberlain's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bernie Cordero was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Emiliano Cordero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Orlando Jarquin having to interfere. If Chunche Palma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 93rd minute of the match Maikol Pineda shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bernie Cordero showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 96 minutes into the match, Uvita's goal looked a bit too open when Arsenio Carazo came free, but Bernie Cordero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Uvita players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Puriscal.
