Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Efren Fuentes made the kick off and thus started the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Bernie Alpizar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bejuco AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Bernie Alpizar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stanley Varela breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Miguel Brenes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Santiago Oreamuno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Efren Fuentes in the 12th minute of the match. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bejuco AFC's goalkeeper Santiago Oreamuno, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 18th minute Efren Fuentes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santiago Oreamuno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Efren Fuentes in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Santiago Oreamuno saved Bejuco AFC from getting behind. In the 20th minute, Mikael Ortega got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mikael Ortega received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Santiago Oreamuno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stanley Varela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Brenes in the 31st minute of play.

The wind increased when Miguel Brenes made the kick off in the second half. Bejuco AFC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Efren Fuentes 50 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. If Israel Cortez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Santiago Oreamuno came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Atenas FC's Mikael Ortega. But to his dismay, Mikael Ortega quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. A hard shot 67 in the game by Mikael Ortega from a close distance when the talented Santiago Oreamuno managed to make a qualified save. Bejuco AFC's players were relieved. Miguel Brenes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 72 minutes into the match, Miguel Brenes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Stanley Varela. Atenas FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Miguel Brenes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Efren Fuentes kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. When Israel Cortez came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Bejuco AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Israel Cortez couldn't finish the play. Mikael Ortega received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Santiago Oreamuno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Efren Fuentes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Atenas FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
