Spectators: 38 (Terracing: 29, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Fidel Thome started the match with the kick off. Santiago Davila's late challenge caught a Tres Rios FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Santiago Davila helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Tres Rios FC booed when Racing Gimnástico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Santiago Davila didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 9 minutes, Manrique Heredia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Racing Gimnástico and the Tres Rios FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Racing Gimnástico's zone, Reinaldo Colon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Warner Villegas came out of the goal and Reinaldo Colon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fidel Thome sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Antonio Gallo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antonio Gallo in the 22nd minute of play forced Tres Rios FC's goalkeeper Bennie Cubero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tres Rios FC's Bennie Cubero proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Tres Rios FC from getting a goal against them. After having played for 26 minutes, Reinaldo Colon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tres Rios FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Reinaldo Colon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Santiago Davila kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Warner Villegas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fidel Thome, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 30th minute, Manrique Heredia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Teodoro Tenorio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tres Rios FC's Bennie Cubero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antonio Gallo in the 41st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Teodoro Tenorio got free with Bennie Cubero in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Antonio Gallo to strike the kick off in the second half. Antonio Gallo might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bennie Cubero. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Antonio Gallo ran back to his position shaking his head. Antonio Gallo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Santiago Davila was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 59 minutes had been played. After 60 played minutes Racing Gimnástico got a freekick which was hit by Santiago Davila. In the 61st minute of the match Edgar Palacios shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Warner Villegas showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Reinaldo Colon who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 64thth minute tested the skills of Warner Villegas when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Teodoro Tenorio struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Bennie Cubero didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Racing Gimnástico. After a rather tough play, Racing Gimnástico's Vinicio Porras got a free kick in the 87th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Teodoro Tenorio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Racing Gimnástico's supporters rose to their feet, but Teodoro Tenorio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bennie Cubero breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Tres Rios FC's zone, Teodoro Tenorio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bennie Cubero came out of the goal and Teodoro Tenorio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Racing Gimnástico's Antonio Gallo in the 94th minute got a chance for a shot 94th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Tres Rios FC's goalie prevented a goal. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
