The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Emilio Matute had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 2nd minute. After having played for 15 minutes, Giovanni Bolaños managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Palmares FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Giovanni Bolaños was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Andres Vindas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Pancho Matamoros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Dabia booed when Palmares FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Piedra didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 22 minutes, Emilio Matute managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dabia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emilio Matute was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Andres Vindas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pancho Matamoros having to interfere. Felix Arrieta took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 26th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Pancho Matamoros. Dabia's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Palmares FC's Andres Vindas in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Dabia's goalie prevented a goal. In the 72nd minute, Andres Vindas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 82nd minute Andres Vindas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pancho Matamoros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pancho Matamoros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andres Vindas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 85th match minute, Dabia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Heriberto Viquez to maneuver through the defense. Giovanni Bolaños in the 87thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Pancho Matamoros, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 88 minutes into the match, Palmares FC's Giovanni Bolaños sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pancho Matamoros narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
