In the 8th minute of the match, Ernesto Thome got a very nice opportunity to score, but Angel Cordoba was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Freddy Guzman hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Angel Cordoba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celso Orlich in the 13th minute of the match. Juventus FC's Miguel Monge played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nacho Martinez in the 14th minute of play. Freddy Guzman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Miguel Monge showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hernan Molina in the 28th minute of the match. Rafa Duran kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. When Nacho Martinez, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 31 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Miguel Monge was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 37 minutes into the match, Club Sport Herediano's Freddy Guzman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Miguel Monge narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Miguel Monge made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nery Avila in the 38th minute of play. In the 39th minute, Ernesto Thome ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Angel Cordoba was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After 46 played minutes Juventus FC got a freekick which was hit by Ernesto Thome.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nacho Martinez was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, Juventus FC's Miguel Monge got control of the ball when Nery Avila tried to sneak it across the goal line. Miguel Monge showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Freddy Guzman in the 56th minute of the match. The supporters of Juventus FC booed when Club Sport Herediano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Freddy Guzman didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Nacho Martinez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Miguel Monge was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. Angel Cordoba stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of David Sarmiento's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. Miguel Monge came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by Club Sport Herediano's Freddy Guzman. But to his dismay, Freddy Guzman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Nacho Martinez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Miguel Monge having to make a save. Juventus FC's Miguel Monge played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hernan Molina in the 79th minute of play. 1-2 became the score in the 82nd minute when Hernan Molina elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Nacho Martinez's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 86thth minute, Miguel Monge skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Miguel Monge took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Freddy Guzman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 88th minute of the match, Alan Quiros got a very nice opportunity to score, but Miguel Monge was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Nacho Martinez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Miguel Monge tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 95 minutes into the match, Club Sport Herediano's goal looked a bit too open when Celso Orlich came free, but Angel Cordoba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
