Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Frank Rosabal started the match with the kick off. Saul Gaitan struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Federico Calderon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Limon FC. Limon FC's Reinaldo Gamboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roy Amador in the 12th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santiago Mesa in the 16th minute of play forced El Carmen FC's goalkeeper Federico Calderon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Saul Gaitan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frank Rosabal blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Federico Calderon having to make a save. The supporters of Limon FC booed when El Carmen FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julio Jara didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mauricio Soto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Federico Calderon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Federico Calderon stood somewhat misplaced when Frank Rosabal came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 34 minute. Frank Rosabal's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 37thth minute, Federico Calderon skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After having played for 38 minutes, Saul Gaitan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Limon FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Saul Gaitan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Frank Rosabal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Federico Calderon having to interfere. A hard shot 43 in the game by Frank Rosabal from a close distance when the talented Federico Calderon managed to make a qualified save. El Carmen FC's players were relieved. If Frank Rosabal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Saul Gaitan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Federico Calderon having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Heriberto Sandi to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Limon FC's goalkeeper Reinaldo Gamboa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Abel Vanderlat. Frank Rosabal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Federico Calderon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Saul Gaitan went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. In the 62ndth minute of the game Frank Rosabal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but El Carmen FC's Federico Calderon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 64th minute Saul Gaitan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Federico Calderon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 66 minutes into the match, Frank Rosabal had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Federico Calderon. El Carmen FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Frank Rosabal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. If Heriberto Sandi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Frank Rosabal in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Federico Calderon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Federico Calderon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Saul Gaitan, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. El Carmen FC's Federico Calderon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santiago Mesa in the 78th minute of play. In the 79th minute, El Carmen FC's Diego Vanderlat seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Diego Vanderlat the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of El Carmen FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Diego Vanderlat had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. A collision led to El Carmen FC getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Diego Vanderlat hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in El Carmen FC's zone, Frank Rosabal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Federico Calderon came out of the goal and Frank Rosabal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Federico Calderon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bernardo Carazo went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. After 93 minutes of play, Limon FC's Frank Rosabal made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Federico Calderon was left in no man's land by his defense there! There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Limon FC fully deserved thier win.
