Rafa Parra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Otoniel Coronado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Guardia in the 9th minute of play. 13 minutes into the game, Jason Cisneros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Quepos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Uvita the free kick. A collision led to Quepos getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Jason Cisneros hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. In the 20th match minute, Uvita was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Obando to maneuver through the defense. Marco Alfaro missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 21 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Otoniel Coronado right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafa Parra in the 23rd minute of play forced Uvita's goalkeeper Otoniel Coronado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Quepos booed when Uvita was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chunche Jimenez didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Rafa Parra came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Quepos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rafa Parra couldn't finish the play. Tito Sanchez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Anselmo Duarte made a huge save. The supporters of Uvita booed when Quepos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manrique Mendez didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Efrain Brenes came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Quepos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Efrain Brenes couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Evaristo Echeverria in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anselmo Duarte saved Quepos from getting behind. After having played for 48 minutes, Tito Sanchez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Uvita's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tito Sanchez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The audience thought a goal was coming when Rafa Parra got free with Otoniel Coronado in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Evaristo Echeverria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anselmo Duarte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tito Sanchez in the 61st minute of the match. Tito Sanchez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Anselmo Duarte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Chunche Jimenez during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. With a little luck, Uvita's Otoniel Coronado got control of the ball when Rafa Parra tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Uvita's zone, Rafa Parra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Otoniel Coronado came out of the goal and Rafa Parra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Quepos's Rafa Parra got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Quepos booed when Uvita was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nery Ulate didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 82nd minute Marco Alfaro managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. Rafa Parra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Uvita's Otoniel Coronado got control of the ball when Rafa Parra tried to sneak it across the goal line. 87 minutes into the game, Reinaldo Matos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Uvita's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Quepos the free kick. After a rather tough play, Uvita's Reinaldo Matos got a free kick in the 87th minute. If Efrain Brenes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Otoniel Coronado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Willy Pinto in the 94th minute of play. Quepos's Rafa Parra was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 96th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. When the final whistle sounded Quepos left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Uvita.
