Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Quepos's Alberto Guardia started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Uriel Fuentes hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. 12 minutes into the match, Golfito FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Guardia came free, but Edgar Pineda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A hard shot 15 in the game by Uriel Fuentes from a close distance when the talented Anselmo Duarte managed to make a qualified save. Quepos's players were relieved. When Manrique Mendez fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Quepos's protests and gave Manrique Mendez a yellow card for diving instead. Manrique Mendez kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Edgar Pineda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Guardia in the 19th minute of play. After having played for 21 minutes, Uriel Fuentes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Golfito FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Uriel Fuentes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Golfito FC's Rogelio Montealegre in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Quepos's goalie prevented a goal. Edgar Pineda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafa Parra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rafa Parra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Uriel Fuentes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Anselmo Duarte made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Uriel Fuentes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Golfito FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Uriel Fuentes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anselmo Duarte breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jason Cisneros struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Edgar Pineda didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Quepos. Rafa Parra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgar Pineda having to interfere. Edgar Pineda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafa Parra, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rogelio Montealegre to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Quepos's goal looked a bit too open when Rogelio Montealegre came free, but Anselmo Duarte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alberto Guardia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Rafa Parra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. David Viquez kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Alberto Guardia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgar Pineda having to interfere. Edgar Pineda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Guardia in the 62nd minute of the match. Anselmo Duarte came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Golfito FC's Rogelio Montealegre. But to his dismay, Rogelio Montealegre quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Anselmo Duarte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rogelio Montealegre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rogelio Montealegre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 76th minute, Rafa Parra got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 77 minutes, Josue Portuguez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Golfito FC and the Quepos players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Golfito FC getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Josue Portuguez hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Guardia in the 80th minute of play forced Golfito FC's goalkeeper Edgar Pineda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 80th minute, Cid Castillo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 81st minute, Alberto Guardia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alberto Guardia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edgar Pineda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Guardia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Quepos getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Keylor Chinchilla hit a great ball. In the 93rd minute of the match David Viquez sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Anselmo Duarte skillfully saved the ball. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Quepos players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
