After 15 played minutes Middlesbrough United got a freekick which was hit by Freddie Tate. When Rio Cuarto FC's Anselmo Sancho in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Middlesbrough United's goalie prevented a goal. In the 23rd minute, Salomon Obando left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rio Cuarto FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Anselmo Sancho scored 4-0 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Andre Townsend, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Anselmo Sancho got free with Andre Townsend in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 40 minutes into the game, Elvis Gamboa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rio Cuarto FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Middlesbrough United the free kick. After a rather tough play, Rio Cuarto FC's Anselmo Sancho got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Middlesbrough United's Andre Townsend proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Middlesbrough United from getting a goal against them. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 56th minute, Anselmo Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rio Cuarto FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-1. Middlesbrough United's Andre Townsend played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baltazar Loria in the 60th minute of play. Anselmo Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andre Townsend having to interfere. The supporters of Rio Cuarto FC booed when Middlesbrough United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lloyd Taylor didn't get a good kick on the ball. Crispin Amos hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. After 71 minutes of play, Rio Cuarto FC's Salomon Obando made it 7-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Andre Townsend was left in no man's land by his defense there! Andre Townsend didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anselmo Sancho went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 8-1 was the resulting score. Anselmo Sancho struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Andre Townsend didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rio Cuarto FC. Rodney Thorne could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Leonel Blen made a huge save. When Rio Cuarto FC's Anselmo Sancho in the 86th minute got a chance for a shot 86th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When the referee ended the match the Rio Cuarto FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
