Japulco FBC's Teofilo Cabria got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zilar Botana charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zilar Botana the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 6th match minute, Otuzco was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zilar Botana to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Japulco FBC's zone, Meendez Retana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Montay Roches came out of the goal and Meendez Retana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Polo Deleon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nahia Mancobo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Teofilo Cabria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Polo Deleon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 22nd minute Nahia Mancobo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Polo Deleon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 22 minutes into the game, Martxelin Yanez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Otuzco's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Japulco FBC the free kick. After 22 played minutes Otuzco got a freekick which was hit by Martxelin Yanez. Japulco FBC's Teofilo Cabria got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nahia Mancobo in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Polo Deleon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 34th minute, Zilar Botana sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Japulco FBC's Montay Roches didn't even have to move. In the 36thth minute of the game Teodoro Peruyera who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Japulco FBC's Montay Roches was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 38th minute, Teodoro Peruyera got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 42 minutes into the match, Japulco FBC's goalkeeper Montay Roches had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Meendez Retana. After having played for 45 minutes, Meendez Retana managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Otuzco's supporters crossed their fingers, but Meendez Retana was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Teodoro Peruyera stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nahia Mancobo in the 56th minute of play forced Otuzco's goalkeeper Polo Deleon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Nahia Mancobo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Japulco FBC's supporters rose to their feet, but Nahia Mancobo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
