Eleder Encio scored 0-1 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Chale Camison, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 11 minutes into the match, Universitario de Perú's goal looked a bit too open when Caradaro Carrillos came free, but Birila Liaño reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Romulo Puente had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Iban Megia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Chale Camison showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eleder Encio, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 23rd minute Eleder Encio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chale Camison saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, Romulo Puente had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Chale Camison. Taypisipa's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Romulo Puente was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 31st minute, Romulo Puente got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Chale Camison took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eleder Encio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Taypisipa's Chale Camison played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romulo Puente in the 35th minute of play. Chale Camison showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eleder Encio, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. After 39 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Universitario de Perú! When the match had been going on for 41 minutes, Taypisipa's Ixaka Nieva got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Birila Liaño. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Romulo Puente made a kick off. If Eleder Encio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Universitario de Perú's Poncio Ruesga got his second yellow card of the match in the 56th minute. The referee ordered Poncio Ruesga off the ground. Poncio Ruesga hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zacarias Godos in the 58th minute of play forced Universitario de Perú's goalkeeper Birila Liaño to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Birila Liaño made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zacarias Godos in the 61st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Taypisipa's zone, Romulo Puente stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Chale Camison came out of the goal and Romulo Puente tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Birila Liaño made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valiente Macedo in the 67th minute of play. Birila Liaño made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cedro Monzonis in the 70th minute of play. In the 77th minute, Ikatz Camus hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 80th minute, Taypisipa's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Romulo Puente fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Romulo Puente's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Chale Camison firmly grabbed it by the left post. 84 minutes into the match, Caradaro Carrillos notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Universitario de Perú's Birila Liaño. Birila Liaño was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 92nd minute, Caradaro Carrillos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 94 played minutes Taypisipa got a freekick which was hit by Cedro Monzonis. Many of Universitario de Perú's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Universitario de Perú may have spent more time on the ball, but Taypisipa were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
