The referee ignored Platanal's protests and gave Guaberto Cerredelo a yellow card for diving instead. Serapio Golmayo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Luisito Cascallana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 18 minutes, Virgilio Figueruela mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Platanal and the Yaurin FBC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 18th match minute, Platanal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Virgilio Figueruela to maneuver through the defense. Yaurin FBC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Claudinei Vicastillo in the 21st minute. After taking down the ball on Yaurin FBC's corner Claudinei Vicastillo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Luisito Cascallana quite easily take care of the ball. If Frantzes Avalo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 28th minute Serapio Golmayo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luisito Cascallana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Platanal's Luisito Cascallana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frantzes Avalo in the 32nd minute of play. Cordarell Bonilla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rafel Cercalde in the 44th minute. Ishmael Mancina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 47 minutes, Colas Ojesto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Yaurin FBC and the Platanal players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Platanal booed when Yaurin FBC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Colas Ojesto didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 49th minute Ishmael Mancina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cordarell Bonilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Serapio Golmayo to make the kick off. Frantzes Avalo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luisito Cascallana having to interfere. 70 minutes into the game, Rainerio Buisante was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Platanal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Yaurin FBC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Platanal's Rainerio Buisante got a free kick in the 70th minute. Yaurin FBC's Serapio Golmayo got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 75 played minutes Yaurin FBC got a freekick which was hit by Colas Ojesto. 81 minutes into the match, Platanal's goal looked a bit too open when Serapio Golmayo came free, but Luisito Cascallana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Serapio Golmayo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luisito Cascallana having to interfere. Frantzes Avalo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Platanal's Luisito Cascallana proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Platanal from getting a goal against them. In the 88th minute, Rafel Cercalde ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cordarell Bonilla was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Platanal's Rafel Cercalde got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Frantzes Avalo got free with Luisito Cascallana in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the Yaurin FBC defense, Ishmael Mancina kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cordarell Bonilla. The Yaurin FBC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cordarell Bonilla should have stopped the shot. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Platanal were victorious despite being under pressure from Yaurin FBC for much of the match.
