After having played for 7 minutes, Xzaiver Azpeitia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. San Marcelo High School's supporters crossed their fingers, but Xzaiver Azpeitia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 10th minute, Baltasar Jaurigui got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Xzaiver Azpeitia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Igor Leizaur walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Xzaiver Azpeitia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Natalio Arce having to interfere. Igor Leizaur sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Shucushuyacu FBC's Natalio Arce played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xzaiver Azpeitia in the 22nd minute of play. Xzaiver Azpeitia blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Natalio Arce having to make a save. Xzaiver Azpeitia spun around in front of the goal 37 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Shucushuyacu FBC's goal. Shucushuyacu FBC were awarded a corner in the 46th minute after San Marcelo High School's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Behe Bengoechea took the corner. After taking down the ball on Shucushuyacu FBC's corner Behe Bengoechea fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Valiente Cavazos quite easily take care of the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mitxaut Averasturi to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Shucushuyacu FBC's Cesario Logroño got a free kick in the 57th minute. San Marcelo High School's Xzaiver Azpeitia got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind San Marcelo High School's goalkeeper Valiente Cavazos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 72 minutes into the match, Xzaiver Azpeitia notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Shucushuyacu FBC's Natalio Arce. Natalio Arce was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 76th minute, Mitxaut Averasturi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Valiente Cavazos was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Mitxaut Averasturi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Valiente Cavazos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Xzaiver Azpeitia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match was over San Marcelo High School could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Shucushuyacu FBC throughout the match.
