After a rather tough play, Independiente cantayo's Severo Carriles got a free kick in the 15th minute. The supporters of Independiente cantayo booed when Cali was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silban Mussoll didn't get a good kick on the ball. 21 minutes into the game, Independiente cantayo's Quirce Reboiras nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Reinaldo Carrizo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Ronaldo Carne kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Cali's Xicu Eraña couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 24th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Independiente cantayo. If Crescencio Cora had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Francho Anguiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Crescencio Cora in the 30th minute of play. Francho Anguiano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Crescencio Cora, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ronaldo Carne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 62nd minute Crescencio Cora shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francho Anguiano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Cali's zone, Quirce Reboiras stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reinaldo Carrizo came out of the goal and Quirce Reboiras tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With an all-out effort, Independiente cantayo's Reinaldo Carrizo threw himself towards the right post 65 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Quirce Reboiras, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Quirce Reboiras fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reinaldo Carrizo having to interfere. Quirce Reboiras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Cali's goalkeeper Reinaldo Carrizo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 74th minute Crescencio Cora shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francho Anguiano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Crescencio Cora fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francho Anguiano having to interfere. After 83 played minutes Independiente cantayo got a freekick which was hit by Shepherd Cabanela. When Severo Carriles fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Independiente cantayo's protests and gave Severo Carriles a yellow card for diving instead. After 94 played minutes Independiente cantayo got a freekick which was hit by Severo Carriles. 94 minutes into the match, Cali's Xicu Eraña broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Independiente cantayo played a much better game than Cali and deserved their victory. The Cali players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
