FC Melgar AQP's Bortzaioriz Graci got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 14th minute, Ugaitz Arenas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Ugaitz Arenas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Nando Rovira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ugaitz Arenas took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Piorno Pedrera. Piorno Pedrera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After a rather tough play, FC Melgar AQP's Bortzaioriz Graci got a free kick in the 32nd minute. A collision led to FC Melgar AQP getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Bortzaioriz Graci hit a great ball. Ugaitz Arenas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The wind increased when Xzaver Matas made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Benicio Torrado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 62 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for FC Melgar AQP! Valerio Olazarra was a little too slow when Benicio Torrado got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 66th minute. The score was now 1-2. Bortzaioriz Graci sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Pedroso Luciano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 96 minutes, Benicio Torrado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cajabamba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benicio Torrado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 97th minute, one of FC Melgar AQP:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FC Melgar AQP. Romano Quer shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Cajabamba eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
