Morrope's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Yupanqui FC the free kick. The supporters of Yupanqui FC booed when Morrope was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giraldo Godan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roegelio Laguardia was out of position in the 6 minute of play, and Furtado Lugo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Furtado Lugo really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Furtado Lugo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Roegelio Laguardia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Yupanqui FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gitano Cabral was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gitano Cabral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Roegelio Laguardia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Jose-Antonio Fernandez came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Morrope fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jose-Antonio Fernandez couldn't finish the play. After 33 minutes of play, Morrope's Jose-Antonio Fernandez made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cerilo Rado was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Furtado Lugo during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Furtado Lugo hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Morrope's goalkeeper Roegelio Laguardia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gitano Cabral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Morrope's zone, Gitano Cabral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roegelio Laguardia came out of the goal and Gitano Cabral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Gitano Cabral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 46 played minutes Morrope got a freekick which was hit by Hernandez Cuello. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Furtado Lugo was the one to do the kick off. Ricardo Vialpando kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Gitano Cabral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 60 minutes into the match, Morrope's Hernandez Cuello sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cerilo Rado narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Morrope's Roegelio Laguardia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gitano Cabral in the 75th minute of play. Jose-Antonio Fernandez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cerilo Rado having to make a save. After 79 minutes, Hermelando Liñan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Yupanqui FC and the Morrope players grew even worse after the yellow card. Morrope's Atauri Rayon got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Yupanqui FC's goalkeeper Cerilo Rado, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 92nd minute of the game, Atauri Rayon landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Eguerdi Berdu's late challenge caught a Morrope's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eguerdi Berdu helped the player get up and apologised. After 93 played minutes Yupanqui FC got a freekick which was hit by Eguerdi Berdu. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Gitano Cabral managed to get in a good position for a shot. Yupanqui FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gitano Cabral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roegelio Laguardia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
