The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Olo Boreyta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Mino, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Gilabert Rendueles acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 61st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Desiderio Cascos. When Tartalo Baltuile came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the universitario peru fc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tartalo Baltuile couldn't finish the play. Xian Zalon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gilabert Rendueles read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Sencie FC's Lon Graciosa got a free kick in the 69th minute. After having played for 73 minutes, Perico Lando managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sencie FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Perico Lando was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Mino in the 75th minute of play forced universitario peru fc's goalkeeper Olo Boreyta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Demetrio Lezcano charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
