Cresencio Barreras took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tartalo Baltuile, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 10th minute of the match Txerran Docio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cresencio Barreras skillfully saved the ball. Marcos Villafañe hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. 23 minutes into the game, Zigor Minayo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. universitario peru fc's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bocanegra the free kick. Xian Basozabal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Olo Boreyta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 32 minutes into the game, one of universitario peru fc:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Jeremias Cuquejo walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. When Xian Basozabal came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Bocanegra fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Xian Basozabal couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xian Basozabal in the 43rd minute of play forced universitario peru fc's goalkeeper Olo Boreyta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tartalo Baltuile in the 45th minute of play forced Bocanegra's goalkeeper Cresencio Barreras to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Crispo Cuello fell near the penalty area in the 48th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bocanegra's protests and gave Crispo Cuello a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Bocanegra fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 47th minute. Penalty! In the 50th minute there was a penalty for universitario peru fc. Ebardo Sigüenza stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Cresencio Barreras. 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eugenio Reigada made a kick off. With his leg Olo Boreyta managed to avoid a goal in the 58thth minute, when Bocanegra's Xian Basozabal fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 61st minute, Xian Basozabal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Desiderio Cascos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tartalo Baltuile struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Cresencio Barreras didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for universitario peru fc. In the 74th minute, Bocanegra's Eugenio Reigada ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Olo Boreyta. Olo Boreyta yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Xian Zalon managed to get in a good position for a shot. universitario peru fc's supporters rose to their feet, but Xian Zalon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cresencio Barreras breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Xian Basozabal might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Olo Boreyta. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Xian Basozabal ran back to his position shaking his head. Olo Boreyta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eugenio Reigada in the 94th minute of the match. In the 96th minute, Florentino Cabezuela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, universitario peru fc's Ebardo Sigüenza got a free kick in the 98th minute. It was beautiful to see Bocanegra's Jeremias Cuquejo in action when he in the 100th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance!
