After a defensive mix-up in Universitario's zone, Asier Abello stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Matro Perramon came out of the goal and Asier Abello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Sporting Chilcano booed when Universitario was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bonifacio Morentin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Heli Monsalve took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 24th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Matro Perramon. Universitario's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 28th minute, Armando Santotis made a precise shot to the right of Matro Perramon. Universitario's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Matro Perramon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armando Santotis in the 32nd minute of the match. Universitario's Matro Perramon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armando Santotis in the 45th minute of play. 45 minutes into the match, Armando Santotis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Matro Perramon. Universitario's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Armando Santotis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. After the first half Sporting Chilcano were leading 0-6. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Armando Santotis made the kick off in the second half. A hard shot 74 in the game by Armando Santotis from a close distance when the talented Matro Perramon managed to make a qualified save. Universitario's players were relieved.
