But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tello Picado couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Overal Peru getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Ezequiel Cuervo hit a great ball. Overal Peru's Stamen Andonov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Itzaina Lecubarri in the 32nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Evaristo da Rocha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Stamen Andonov was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. After 37 minutes Overal Peru's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Itzaina Lecubarri who took care of the corner kick. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Teobald Czaplicki to make the kick off. Oscar-Alfredo Ibanez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gavino Nieves in the 52nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Teobald Czaplicki's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Oscar-Alfredo Ibanez was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. Oscar-Alfredo Ibanez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Astigar Blea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
