After 4 minutes, José Moscoso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chanis F.C. and the Monte Lirio players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 4th match minute, Chanis F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Moscoso to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that David Zambrano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ramon Ulloa was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. Cheito Fernández received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Andrés Torrijos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Monte Lirio's Andrés Torrijos got control of the ball when Cheito Fernández tried to sneak it across the goal line. Monte Lirio's Andrés Torrijos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Monchi Bermudez in the 33rd minute of play. David Zambrano might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ramon Ulloa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. David Zambrano ran back to his position shaking his head. 42 minutes into the match, Chanis F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when David Zambrano came free, but Ramon Ulloa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 42 minutes into the game, David Zambrano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ramon Ulloa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ramon Ulloa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Zambrano in the 45th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Chanis F.C.'s zone, Pedro Gutierrez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ramon Ulloa came out of the goal and Pedro Gutierrez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half Monte Lirio were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Monchi Bermudez was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Monchi Bermudez in the 54th minute of play forced Monte Lirio's goalkeeper Andrés Torrijos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ramon Ulloa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Zambrano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Andrés Torrijos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monchi Bermudez in the 73rd minute of play. After having played for 75 minutes, Monchi Bermudez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chanis F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Monchi Bermudez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. José Moscoso kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Monte Lirio's David Zambrano got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 90th minute David Zambrano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramon Ulloa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Monchi Bermudez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alexander Moreno during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Andrés Torrijos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Monchi Bermudez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Monte Lirio players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
