Joe Mota's late challenge caught a San Miguelito's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joe Mota helped the player get up and apologised. Joe Mota hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Julio Espino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rolando Perez in the 15th minute. In the 18th minute, one of Jaqué:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Jaqué. The referee gave San Miguelito a penalty, 20 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Fernando Sobenis, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Jaqué's Julio Espino. 1-0. If Rolando Perez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Martín Escobar scored 1-1 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edgardo Mora, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jaqué's Julio Espino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilfredo Perez in the 37th minute of play. Joe Mota hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Fernando Sobenis took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 43rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Julio Espino. Jaqué's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 43 minutes of play Jaqué's Joe Mota was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of San Miguelito booed when Jaqué was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joe Mota didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. During the 59th minute of the match Martín Escobar completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Martín Escobar a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 60th match minute, Jaqué was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martín Escobar to maneuver through the defense. Rolando Perez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wilfredo Perez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Espino having to interfere. The supporters of San Miguelito booed when Jaqué was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexander Pimentel didn't get a good kick on the ball.
