The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Romel Orozco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 2nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 9 played minutes Kusapin got a freekick which was hit by Orlando Nuñez. A collision led to Cirilo Guainora getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Max Gil hit a great ball. Tomás Pérez was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 14th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Felipe Espino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Romel Orozco came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Cirilo Guainora fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Romel Orozco couldn't finish the play. Alejandro Paredes's late challenge caught a Cirilo Guainora's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alejandro Paredes helped the player get up and apologised. In the 20th match minute, Kusapin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alejandro Paredes to maneuver through the defense. In the 21st minute, Orlando Nuñez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Kusapin getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Guillermo Pimentel hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Romel Orozco in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jorge Pinilla saved Kusapin from getting behind. When Américo Villarreal fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kusapin's protests and gave Américo Villarreal a yellow card for diving instead. In the 29th minute there was a penalty for Cirilo Guainora. Eloy De Gracia stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Jorge Pinilla . 0-1. If Alejandro Paredes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Orlando Nuñez kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Orlando Nuñez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Briceño having to interfere. After 46 minutes of play, Cirilo Guainora's Felipe Espino made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jorge Pinilla was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half Cirilo Guainora were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Felipe Espino to make the kick off. Jaime Benavides received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Fernando Briceño tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Jaime Benavides had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 65 minutes into the match, Kusapin's goalkeeper Jorge Pinilla had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Romel Orozco. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Max Gil managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cirilo Guainora's supporters rose to their feet, but Max Gil was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jorge Pinilla breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Alex Agurto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fernando Briceño was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. A collision led to Cirilo Guainora getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Max Gil hit a great ball. When Jaime Benavides came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Kusapin fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jaime Benavides couldn't finish the play. Fernando Briceño showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jaime Benavides, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Eloy Amaya kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. If Romel Orozco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Cirilo Guainora supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Cirilo Guainora would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
