The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 5 played minutes Monchi Gil rounded CANALEROS F.C.'s defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. CANALEROS F.C.'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 10th minute, when Rafael Muñoz scored to the left of an out of position Jaime Villarreal, making the score, 2-0. After a rather tough play, Meteti's Eloy Muñoz got a free kick in the 17th minute. 21 minutes into the game, Gustavo Tijero was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Meteti's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CANALEROS F.C. the free kick. After 21 played minutes Meteti got a freekick which was hit by Gustavo Tijero. Tomás Treviño recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carlos Centella kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. 28 minutes into the match, Emanuel Pimentel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jaime Villarreal. CANALEROS F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Emanuel Pimentel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. With a little luck, CANALEROS F.C.'s Jaime Villarreal got control of the ball when Emanuel Pimentel tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jaime Villarreal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafael Muñoz in the 41st minute of play. If Monchi Gil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 45 minutes into the match, CANALEROS F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Monchi Gil came free, but Jaime Villarreal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

In the 59th match minute, CANALEROS F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex Vergara to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carlos Pérez during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jaime Villarreal was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jaime Villarreal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Pimentel in the 68th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Wilfredo Batista during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Wilfredo Batista hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Carlos Pérez might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gilberto Amaya. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carlos Pérez ran back to his position shaking his head. CANALEROS F.C.'s Jaime Villarreal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilfredo Batista in the 76th minute of play. Alex Vergara kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. If Tomás Treviño had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomás Treviño in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilberto Amaya saved Meteti from getting behind. Jaime Villarreal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monchi Gil in the 86th minute of play. Jaime Villarreal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilfredo Batista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Monchi Gil in the 92nd minute of play forced CANALEROS F.C.'s goalkeeper Jaime Villarreal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 93rd minute of the game. One of CANALEROS F.C.:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Meteti:s goal. In the 96th minute there was a penalty for Meteti. Juan Palma stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Jaime Villarreal. 5-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Meteti fans cheered their team off the field, for while CANALEROS F.C. had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
